Lost Fisherman’s Memorial, Lubec, Maine
Located in Lubec Maine and dedicated to Fishermen lost at sea in Maine and New Brunswick, Canada this memorial was conceived to fill the need of a named memorial, a sculpture, and a functional park in a focal point of the town. The whole sculpture is fused with the landscape. The names are on the inside of the memorial so that the audience is drawn in by the landscape and the sculptural forms from a distance, then has the intimate experience of being surrounded by names and sculptural waves.
